Morphe x Jaclyn Hill: Bling Boss Palette Review

Hello all!

Andrea here, and this week I want to talk about makeup, more specifically the Vault Collection a collab between Jaclyn Hill x Morphe. There has been a lot of controversy surrounding these four palettes, but I wanted to give it a chance since I loved her collab with Becca back in 2016, and her Jaclyn Hill palette that she also did with Morphe. I decided that I would make this a four part review, so that I could play with each palette a few times and then give you guys my honest thoughts on each palettes. The first palette I will review today is the Bling Boss Palette. I have uploaded pictures of the makeup looks I wore this week. So let’s start the rundown.

Initial swatches

The initial swatches looked very promising, all were decently pigmented, all colors looked beautiful, the mattes glided right on, the shimmers were buttery, I was honestly a little shocked. I’d seen so many people review these palettes. A lot of people said they were patchy, and unpigmented, so I went into this expecting to be disappointed and I was honestly expecting the worst, but I was pleasantly surprised. I loved each color and felt excited to use these colors for the next week. I’ve included some arm swatches, so you can see the colors for yourself.

Texture of eyeshadows

I have a fair amount of Morphe palettes, so I’m aware that some of their mattes are chalky to say the least. I was honestly expecting some fallout with the matte shades in this palette. There was none. I repeat, THERE WAS NONE. At least, there was no noticeable fallout, eyeshadow is a pressed powder, so when you loosen it (swirl your brush), it does release the powder on to the brush you are using, that is why fallout exists. But for the formula to have so little, that is quite the accomplishment, there have been many high end brands that have come out with some awful palettes that just go everywhere, so this $15 palette has exceeded all expectations.

Final thoughts

If I had to give this pallet a score, I’d give it a 9.5/10 and here’s why, let’s start with the packaging. The outer design is pleasing, I love the metallics and white is such a chic and minimalistic color. There is a mirror on the inside which I think is great for on the go. It’s also nice because it can be a day to night palette, the colors could be used for a bolder look or you can stay on the minimal side. It has good transition colors and beautiful, buttery shimmers. All the eyeshadow I wore lasted at least 6 hours. Lastly, I really do recommend this palette to all, I loved it.
